We are pleased to announce that the 17th International Conference on Particle Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE2021) will take place in Toyama, Japan, from 9 to 15 October 2021.
With a long tradition of being the international scientific meeting, the PIXE conference is a biennial event to discuss recent outcomes and exchange new ideas with future prospects in particle induced X-ray spectrometry. The conference will cover from advancements in fundamental understanding of X-ray spectrometry to new applications in different research area including biology, medicine, environmental and geological sciences, cultural heritage, materials research, toxicological and forensics, as well as new horizon in interdisciplinary area.
Conference of PIXE2021 will be held at Toyama, which is a small town located at central northern part of main island of Japan. We believe that you will enjoy not only the scientific presentation and discussion during the conference, but also a historical city with its outstanding beautiful nature and traditional culture.
Starting in 2013, the PIXE conference has a specific theme for each meeting. The PIXE2021 theme “Ion Beam Application and Technique 5.0” aims to emphasize expanding potential of PIXE to be combined with other ion beam analysis techniques to open new era. This time, PIXE2021 will be held in conjunction with the 25th International Conference on Ion Beam Analysis(IBA-2021). This is the first trial for our communities to generate new cultural mixtures and fusions of outstanding knowledges and ideas in ion beam research fields.
The scientific program, which is expected to be full of interesting and unique and novel results, will be prepared in form of oral and poster sessions supported on an important set of recent research and developments. Proceedings are planned as a special issue of Nuclear Instruments and Methods section B, in the tradition of the conference.
We cordially invite you to attend PIXE2021 and would like to see you in Toyama next year.
