A social and cultural excursion is planned as part of the conference program.

On Thursday, 9 July, 2026, participants are scheduled to join a full-day excursion (morning–afternoon) to Hiraizumi, Iwate Prefecture, a neighboring prefecture of Sendai and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The excursion will include a visit to Chūson-ji Temple, one of Japan’s most renowned historical and cultural landmarks.
Lunch featuring local cuisine will be provided at a local area during the tour.

Hiraizumi flourished in the 12th century as a political and cultural center inspired by Buddhist ideals, and Chūson-ji is particularly famous for the Konjikidō (Golden Hall), symbolizing the Pure Land Buddhist worldview.

In the evening of the same day, a conference banquet will be held in Sendai.

Further details, including the schedule and participation options, will be announced in due course. Please look forward to this special opportunity to experience the history and culture of northern Japan.
