Access from Central Kyoto to the Conference Venue

The conference venue, Kyoto University Uji Campus, can be conveniently reached by train from Kyoto City. The nearest stations are JR Nara Line's “Obaku Station” and Keihan Uji Line's “Obaku Station”, both within walking distance of the campus.

From Kyoto St. to Obaku St. (JR)

Take a local train (futsū) on the JR Nara Line. Trains from Kyoto Station to Obaku Station take approximately 18 minutes. The fare is 240 yen by IC card.

Please be aware that not all trains on the JR Nara Line stop at Obaku Station. Some rapid or express trains skip this station—make sure to board a local train, or transfer at Uji or Rokujizo if necessary.

* The hotel reserved through the symposium registration system (VIA INN Prime Kyotoeki Hachijoguchi) is located very close to Kyoto Station.

From Downtown Kyoto to Obaku Stations (JR or Keihan)

[Route A: via Subway → JR] For example, starting from Shijo Station on the Subway Karasuma Line, take the subway south to Kyoto Station (about 4 minutes). From Kyoto Station, please refer to the earlier section for how to reach Obaku Station by JR Nara Line.

[Route B: via Keihan Line] For example, starting from Sanjo or Gion-shijo Station on the Keihan Main Line, take the train to Chushojima Station, then transfer to the Keihan Uji Line and ride to Obaku Station. Both legs take around 10-15 minutes.
