|26th International Conference on Ion Beam Analysis|
18th International Conference on Particle Induced X-ray Emission
We are pleased to announce that the 26th International Conference on Ion Beam Analysis – IBA-2023 and the 18th International Conference on Particle Induced X-ray Emission – PIXE-2023 will be held jointly at Toyama, Japan, from 7 to 13 October 2023.
IBA-2023 will provide a forum for colleagues from both academia and industries throughout the world to exchange results and new ideas on Ion Beam Analysis and related techniques. The conference will cover advancements of scientific knowledge from fundamental understanding to new applications. Discussion on present possibilities and future developments of the technique, in view of the future requirements coming from technology and basic research, will be particularly solicited also with dedicated discussion sessions. As in the past conferences, the conference will also be preceded by one day of tutorials and a welcome reception.
With a long tradition of being the international scientific meeting, the PIXE conference is a biennial event to discuss recent outcomes and exchange new ideas with future prospects in particle induced X-ray spectrometry. The conference will cover from advancements in fundamental understanding of X-ray spectrometry to new applications in different research area including biology, medicine, environmental and geological sciences, cultural heritage, materials research, toxicological and forensics, as well as new horizon in interdisciplinary areas. Starting in 2013, the PIXE conference has a specific theme for each meeting. The PIXE2023 theme “Ion Beam Application and Technique 5.0” aims to emphasize expanding potential of PIXE to be combined with other ion beam analysis techniques to open a new era. The scientific program, which is expected to be full of interesting, unique and novel results, will be prepared in forms of oral and poster sessions supported on an important set of recent research and developments.
Proceedings of the joint IBA/PIXE-2023 are planned as a special issue of Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research section B, in the tradition of both conferences.
We cordially invite you to attend joint IBA/PIXE-2023 in Toyama. We believe you will enjoy not only scientific presentation and discussion during the conference but also the historical city Toyama with its outstanding beautiful nature and traditional culture.
